Sherman’s got heart

Arthur J. Severns established Severns’ Drug Store on Williams Street in Crystal Lake in about 1895. A 1906 ad declared the store to be “the best prescription department in the county.” There also was the popular soda fountain, a standard in most drug stores of the era.

Good times are not necessarily the best times for all businesses.
